Our control panel allows you to manage your website settings, create and manage your email accounts, create mailing lists and more. As soon as your domain is resolving, you can access your site control panel by typing in your domain name /siteadmin

FTP TRANSFERS :

When you connect through an FTP client, the directory will be the root of your web account (/user/adm_username/web). The upload directory is: /web.

EMAIL/USER ACCOUNTS :

Your account has been configured with user accounts. For multi-user sites we create the first user account for you (the site admin user). This user account is prefixed with adm_(youruseradminname). Share this account to add, edit, and delete files on your site. Using a separate account will give permission errors.

The site administrator can be setup as a catch-all email box - by entering @www.(yoursitename) it will catch any email for that is not defined as a separate user. This user has the site admin option turned on, allowing this user to sign into the control panel and FTP access to manage your account.

To add additional users for email, please sign into the control panel and click on the add user button. Please enter a full-name (for your reference only) username and the password twice; you may also add any email aliases this user is going to answer for.

By default your username will become an email address as username@(yoursitename).com. Add aliases for your username to receive emails for sales, info etc. To add aliases please enter them on a separate line with just the name - (i.e. sales, info, etc) without any @yoursitename.com suffix.

For mail client configuration setup on your local computer to access to numerous mail accounts, can be by entering the following information under email or account properties.

• Name: The name to be displayed when you send emails
• Address: The email address or alias you have defined
• POP3 Server: yoursitename.com
• SMTP Server: yoursitename.com
  

CGI-BIN/PERL SCRIPTS:

Your account is configured with perl 5.0005 and we do not restrict where you can place your cgi scripts. We have a small script in our cgi-bin (vcinfo.cgi), by viewing this script in your browser it will provide you with all the cgi configuration variables and paths you need to get your cgis working. To view this script please use the following link: http://server3.virtualcobalt.com/cgi-bin/vcinfo.cgi

SITE STATISTICS:

We include full statistics on your account and they are updated nightly. Use the following link to see the statistics of your website: http://www.yoursitename.com/stats

Note: You must use the administrator's username and password to login to the statistics.

SSI SERVER SIDE INCLUDEDS:

Your account is configured with SSI. The server will parse SSI calls in any file with an extension of .shtml or .shtm. If you need to have SSI to be parsed from .html or .htm files please feel free to request custom SSI by emailing us at: support@virtualcobalts.com
